SpeedQuizzing Hosts – Connect Day 2026

Here are the details for the next SpeedQuizzing Hosts Connect Day, including how to register. As per previous announcements, this year’s event will take place on Friday 30th January 2026

Our record of shutting down bars continues as last year’s venue Pitcher and Piano is sadly no more! This year’s event will take place just slightly out of town at York’s Sports Club. It is 1.5 miles from the city centre so a decent little stroll or short taxi ride. For those of you who drive and have had the nightmare of parking in York this will be good news for you as it has plenty of parking.

The format shouldn’t stray too much from previous ones…but as ever the agenda will be ‘fluid’. However, it should run something like this…

  • 12.00pm Arrival/Informal Drinks at York’s Sports Club (Clifton Park, Shipton Road, York YO30 5RE).
  • 12.30pm Buffet.
  • 1.00pm Welcome and Q&A session with the SpeedQuizzing team.
  • 2.00pm Quiz, showcasing latest updates.
  • 3.00pm Q&A session about newly revealed features.
  • 3.30pm Informal networking with SpeedQuizzing team and fellow hosts.
  • 4.30pm Finish (SpeedQuizzing team pack down).
  • 5.30pm The SpeedQuizzing team will be doing something sociable on the evening. It is usually a quiz, of which there are now multiple ones to choose from on a Friday.

York is a popular tourist cathedral city with plenty of things to do and see. Anyone planning to make a weekend of it with respective wives, husbands, partners etc. will be more than welcome to drag them along to whatever it is we decide to do on the evening.

How to Enrol

Like last time, we are asking for a deposit of £15 to book your place. This is necessary to ensure that we can have an idea of how many people we need to cater for.  Like last time we will keep £5 of the deposits for some sort of cash pot giveaway, so everyone will receive a crisp tenner on arrival rather than the full £15. Deposits WON’T be refunded for no-shows.

You can reserve your space through the link below and paying your £15 deposit. As per previous years we will keep £5 of this deposit for the prize kitty for a ‘game of sorts’ during the day, but you will be refunded £10 each upon arrival. Deposits will not be refunded for no-shows.

These events are growing year on year and am sure anyone who has attended before will testify how much fun they are as well as hopefully being informative. We also fully appreciate not everyone can attend for various reasons, but if you can, we look forward to seeing you and hopefully seeing some new faces (along with the ‘old’ ones).
