Actress Charlie Hardwick hosting virtual Emmerdale-themed quiz for NE charity
Actress Charlie Hardwick, who played Val Pollard for over a decade in the TV soap Emmerdale, is hosting a virtual quiz on Sunday 12th July to raise vital funds for local charity Children North East.
The acclaimed performer, who most recently starred as Sue Carp in the Channel 4 drama Ackley Bridge, will play the role of quizmaster, alongside SpeedQuizzing host Stuart Provan, who runs Sounds Right Entertainment.
The two-hour Emmerdale-themed virtual quiz will take place from 7.30-9.30pm and is free to join. Players are invited to make a donation in support of Children North East, a local charity that provides help and funding, through community-based projects to families, children and young people in the region who are experiencing a range of problems and difficulties in their lives.
Participants simply need to download our SpeedQuizzing Live app – which will enable them to answer the questions in real-time through their smartphone or tablet device – and join the Zoom meeting to see and hear Charlie and Stuart and the other participants.
As with all SpeedQuizzing Live events, the quiz will be played over a series of fast-paced rounds, with players scoring bonus points for giving the fastest correct answer.
Commenting on the event, Charlie Hardwick said: “I have incredibly fond memories of my time in Emmerdale and I’m really looking forward to sharing some of these and reliving some of the juicier plot twists on Sunday.
“The fact that the quiz is being run in support of such a fantastic charity makes it all the more special, and I hope as many people as possible will join in the fun and get behind the vital work Children North East do.”
Co-host Stuart Provan said: “SpeedQuizzing is all about fun, fast-paced quizzing and Sunday will be no different. There’s no charge to play, so we’re hoping as many people as possible will take part in what promises to be a fantastic event.”

- Download ‘SpeedQuizzing Live’ on a separate device.
- Enter your team name. The code to join will be shown on the zoom meeting screen.
