Virtual quiz raises over £1,600 for Birmingham Central Foodbank

A well-known Birmingham vlogger and a SpeedQuizzing host joined forces this month to raise over £1,600 for Birmingham Central Foodbank.

Brummy Mummy of 2 blogger and influencer Emma Conway teamed up with quiz host Stoo Pittaway, better known as Mister Quiz, to run a hugely popular ticketed virtual quiz, with over 160 teams taking part from all over the UK and further afield.

The family quiz was hosted over Zoom, with teams playing through our SpeedQuizzing Live app, which enabled them to use their phone or tablet to answer the questions in real time, with bonus points awarded for the fastest correct answer.

£1,600 was raised through the sale of tickets, with the money going to Birmingham Central Foodbank, which is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Commenting on the event, mummy blogger Emma Conway said:

“I’m a big fan of Stoo’s virtual quizzes, so it was great to join forces for the first ever brummymummy online meetup.

“The quiz went down really well, with people playing virtually from all over the UK. We even had one team from Sweden! To top off a great night we managed to raise almost £2,000 for a very deserving local cause.”

Quiz host Stoo Pittaway said:

“With so many people struggling financially at the moment, the work done by Birmingham Central Foodbank to combat poverty and hunger has never been more important and I’m proud to have played a small part, alongside Emma, in helping to support their ongoing efforts.”
