SpeedQuizzing launches major campaign to support hospitality sector and get more people quizzing

As part of our ongoing mission to support the hospitality industry and encourage more people to check out their nearest smartphone quiz, we’re pleased to announce the launch of our first ever national advertising campaign.

We know that there are a lot of people out there who have tried SpeedQuizzing, perhaps online during the lockdowns, and really enjoyed it – but don’t necessarily know where to find their nearest smartphone pub quiz. That’s where our new campaign comes in.

Over the next three months, we’re promoting our SQFinder.com function – which enables people, at the touch of a button, to find their nearest smartphone pub quiz – through giant 10m x 2.5m billboards positioned next to many of the UK’s busiest roads.

The striking billboards, created in conjunction with outdoor media company Drive By Media, and featuring the face of SpeedQuizzing partner, TV’s Paul Sinha, are located next to some of the UK’s busiest motorways, such as the M1, M62, M6 and M74 – meaning they will be seen by millions of people, every week.

Through these motorway adverts, we hope to drive (see what we did there?) people to find and attend their nearest smartphone pub quiz – and with over 1,200 SpeedQuizzing events taking place every week across the UK, there’s no shortage of options for people to choose from.

Commenting on the launch, Phil Qua, our operations manager, said:

“Publicans and entertainment hosts are telling us that SpeedQuizzing events have never been more popular, with quizzers returning to pubs in their thousands following the end of the last lockdown.

“We also know though that a lot of people who enjoyed SpeedQuizzing online during the lockdowns might not be aware of our in-venue smartphone quizzes – and this campaign aims to address that.

“Quizzes are synonymous with British pubs, and we hope that, by helping people to find their nearest smartphone pub quiz, we can encourage even greater numbers to take up quizzing and support their local pub.”

The campaign will be supported by PR and social media activity, in order to reach as many people as possible.

To ensure that venues get the maximum benefit from this campaign, we’d encourage all hosts to check that their event listings on our site are accurate. Listings can be edited through the booking page in the members area.

If you spot any of our billboards while you’re out and about, we’d love it if you could take a photo (only if it’s safe and legal to do so) and share it on your own social media platforms, using the hashtag #GetSpeedQuizzing.
