The SpeedQuizzing Quiz Hosting Software Version 3.0.0 Is now available for download and is free. It allows you to manage and control all aspects of a quick-fire, quiz over a Wifi local area network. What's new in this version?.
Three major new features added:
- Live Screen no longer in beta. Connect and configure a second display to your computer and click the new Live Screen button on the main menu. Full info at http://www.speedquizzing.com/software/docs/live-screen/.
- The Handset Buzzer ID Select Menu means that the teams/players can now choose their Buzzer ID sound for themselves, rather than having to tell their quiz host which sound they want. More info at http://www.speedquizzing.com/software/docs/handset-buzzer-id-select-menu/.
- Easy Activate is a great new feature that basically means an end to the slightly clunky task of dragging a downloaded Activation Key on to the software to activate it. Now, providing you have an internet connection, Activation Keys can be installed, directly from our server, with one simple click in the software.
Bug fix: Router icon colour not changing when devices are connected bug.. is now fixed.
Due to the new host discovery feature in version 3 of the SpeedQuizzing Virtual Buzzer Plus mobile app, this version of the hosting software removes some of the old router configuration features as they are no longer necessary. As a result, SpeedQuizzing can now state it's claim as a ZERO CONFIGURATION system.
NOTE: Only update to this version if you are sure you WILL NOT be trying to connect pre-version 3 apps as THEY ARE NOT SUPPORTED.
Make manual score adjustments by typing numbers directly into a team's score field.
2.6.7 is ready to use with the all new SpeedQuizzing Virtual Buzzer Plus app, which is coming soon.
Bug fix: Some users whose user names contain uppercase characters had reported activation keys failing in 2.6.5. Version 2.6.6 fixes this bug.
Users who have perviously had problems with SpeedQuizzing working with their network adapters will welcome the new networking setup features on 2.6.6. Also, in a Buzzin' round, 'excluded' teams can now be 'unexcluded' by simply clicking the relevant 'excluded' tab.
Live Screen (Beta) is here too. Click our logo in the top right corner of the software to open it. Questions can now be displayed on a second screen/monitor during Keypad games. Toggle between 'Questions', 'Slide show' and 'Scoreboard' on the Live Screen by clicking the logo further times.
The software is free but has demo limitations imposed on to it, but you will still be able to connect up to 4 handsets which enough to playing with a group of friends.
Once you feel ready to use it professionally you can sign up and buy activation keys which will activate the software for 24-hour periods and, once activiated, will allow you to connect up to 32 handsets.
